A lot of People are now Making Mead at Home for Cheap

Mead, the sweet alcoholic beverage made from fermented honey and water can be made at home for cheap. The drink takes a long time to brew but is great for them who are beginners in brewing game.

Mead can be made by first pre-warming the honey to about 100 degrees Fahrenheit in a low-temp oven. If the oven is not available, a warm water bath is also right for the Mead brewing process. It has to be made sure that the choice of equipment should be bacteria free. Search for ways to sterilise all the equipment online or ask the vendor from whom they are bought.

After the equipment is made ready, mix 15.75 pounds of water (heated to 120 degrees Fahrenheit) with 7 pounds of the pre-warmed honey in a large stockpot for the next step. Now keep stirring the solution until the honey has dissolved over gentle heat. Do not rush the process by increasing the heat or stirring harshly. It takes time and the time adds to the product’s taste and authenticity.

After the honey is dissolved add 8 grams of acid blend, 7 grams of yeast nutrient, and 5 grams of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) to the pot. Keep stirring until dissolved. Once the mixture is completely ready just pour it into a large glass carboy. It is necessary to add 2 and a half campden tablets to the mixture to sanitize it from wild yeast and bacteria. Cover the carboy by putting the carboy caps on it.

Now the mixture needs to be set somewhere in dark and cool place for 24 hours. Once the 24 hours are done add the yeast and wait for few weeks. In a few weeks a fully fermented, delicious mead will be available that can be bottled and shared with family and friends.
