There are different ways of washing different pillows. Several sorts of materials make up the pillows, and hence, the washing methods differ from one type to the other.  The best way to know how to wash the bamboo pillows is to follow some simple steps that will make the works more accessible.

  • Removing the cover:

This is an important thing to keep in mind. Do not put the pillow in washing machines or the dryer. The first and the foremost thing to keep in mind is that bamboo pillows contain memory foam. Hence, you need to wash it with care. Your hands are enough to keep the stains away. Remove the cover of the pillow and proceed to the next step.

  • Preparing the requirements:

Washing your delicate materials require some task. The harsh detergents or handling makes the materials rough and fragile. The look of the pillow is lost too. Hence, prepare the washing requirements accordingly. Take a gentle soap and lukewarm water. Keep in mind that it is essential to keep clean and stainless sink to avoid staining your pillow while washing. Make sure the detergent powder is devoid of bleach.

  • Filling In the sink:

Fill the sink in with lukewarm water and add some detergent to it. Do not add much as it will become too foamy and soapy. Take some time to mix the entire things thoroughly. Wait for a while and let the mixture be ready to soak in the pillow. The temperature of the water must be average – neither too hot nor too cold as in both cases may it damage your pillow.

  • Wash the pillow:

Soak in the pillow in the mixture and allow to sink in completely. Let the pillow absorb the mix of soap and water. Once you are sure that the pillow is superbly wet and ready for a wash, gently start washing it. Do not be harsh while you are at the process. If you feel the amount of detergent is a bit less, you may add another pinch if you want to.

  • Rinse the pillow:

Squeeze the pillow gently to ensure the entire soap and water is eradicated. Remove the detergent entirely from the cushion as the remains can prove to be harmful to the pillow. The pillow is now very clean fresh; you will need to dry it. In this case, too, you have to be careful and not use any machine for the drying process. Dry it under the sun and not use a dryer for the procedure. This will help in keeping the materials together and not allow them to form any mildew. This may be a slower process but is useful for the pillow and prevents any damaging.  After the pillow is dried up completely, slip on the cover, and you are good to sleep on it.
